"Da Ugly Suit" Contest is ON!!!

Oh my... what a day! Today was the day for dress up! Since Halloween, the day "Da Ugly Suit" arrived, our five year old Emma Hope has done nothing but pester me about dressing up in the UGLY SUIT! On Halloween night after our mission of "trick or treat" was complete, I laid her out (the suit) on the table and while I marveled in her complete ugliness; Emma fell in love with her. "Is it your's Mommy? It's beautiful!"... Then... "I love it" "Can I wear it too?" Samantha (our two year old) loved "her" (the suit) so much she quickly took the tags off. The next "winner" will see how I re-attached them without having to beg at the local Target to borrow a tag gun. Ahhh... fun!

We played dress up tonight! She would not take it off. The first picture you see is almost an hour later. Note the clothes pins making it looks like it fits in the front!

Please note all the drawings on the wall in the background and the "cocktail". My Emma was ready for the beach. Oh my, how we miss the ocean!!!

So... while she was still wearing it, she again asked about "Da Ugly Suit" and what has to happen next. I told her there was a contest and the winner receives the suit. She loves this suit! You have to understand... she's a typical five year old... "Mommy, can I go with the suit?" So while I explained to her how it works, in my head I'm laughing and hearing Yzma's voice (Eartha Kitt) talking about packing the flea in a box and another box and shipping it to herself - minus the smashing part... and I burst into laughter while explaining to Emma that she could not go with the suit... yes... this all in my head while talking... Emma will not be coming with the suit. We kinda like her!!!

For the official contest rules... Visit KIM HERE ... and if you do not have a blog of your own and are considering entering, I would be happy to blog your contest for you.

It is an interesting feeling the happiness, fun, and connectedness (is that a word?) that an ugly bathing suit can bring... stay tuned another opportunity to win is on the way!

No! No! NOT ON A CHILD!!!! Oh, Angela HOW COULD YOU?? LOL! Actually, on her it looks adorable in a Barney threw up all over me kind of way. So my suit is on the West coast now, eh? Can we get it to Paris??? Great job. I'll send you $5 for your daughter's future therapy bills....

KIM :)

Word ver: Calic, the sound most people make when they see the Ugly Suit.

Kim! LOL!!! I almost got a coffee nasal flush when I saw your comment!

So I'm on the treadmill this morning and had the ugly suit hanging on a chair. Emma saw it and started in again... "Mommy can I play dress up again today with this?" Then... "I don't ever want to take it off!"

I might take you up on the five bucks LOL!

I was thinking we needed to make an after school special, "Kim, Eat Something!" until I saw the clothes pins... whew! That was a close one.. I had my finger on the "send" button to plan an intervention.

I think the suit looks cute as a button on your Emma Hope. I've said all along I thought the suit had been erroneously placed in the "Ladies" department... somehow the pattern suits a 5 years old (oh, no offense to you Kim! How rude of me!).

:-) LOL Glad to see Da Suit is still on Da Move!

Jeanne - you're horrible. But you can send me Oreos anyway....

Your daughter looks so cute and happy! In years to come you'll be glad that you immortalized that wild print. It's like a time capsule.

In the 1960s my mother the fabric junkie would buy the most godawful gaudy prints. Perhaps their were a visual antidote to her stark rural surroundings....

There's talk the next winner should consider putting the suit on the husband. I'm starting a pool to collect payoff money... who's in?

Angela said...

See... that's what I'm talking about. I have a particular "hubby" in mind, and his name starts with a J!

How much do you think the pay off would be???

CharlieInWonderlandDotCom said...

I'm not sure we could raise that kind of money... but you never know!

Dude, you're captcha thingy is freakin' my bean... my word is "carypere"... wwwwooooaaaaaaa!

I know SOMEONE who was hoping to get it onto Jim Carrey! LOL! Wouldn't that be a pip!

Angela said...

Yes, and I am STILL holding out hope Jenny will enter and Jim will be his usual hysterically funny self and don the suit!

Well, as Nani(AKA grandma)to the now famous Emma Hope I just have to say I think she looked Maaaavellous.....(or however you would spell that)and the drink with the umbrella and of course the shades for the photo op made her look ready to jump on the plane to Mexico with me and Hoppy(AKA grandpa). So how does this vote thing go cause I vote for Emma!:)

Emma's Nani

Hi Mom! Welcome to the world of blogging and commenting. Nice to have you on here :D

Jeanne's mom calls herself Granny Warrior (it may be flip-flopped)... You could call yourself Nani Warrior... I did earn a couple honorary degrees from you through all this with the boys, and your constant listening to or reading research/articles I sent (and those that I wrote).

You can not vote for Emma :D Who ever makes a comment may win Kim's ugly suit... Beware... you are now entered LOL!!!You would then have to make your own contest and blog it to get rid of the ugly thing!

While we would all love to see it go to another country, not on you in Mexico! And not on Emma in Mexico either :D

You mak-a-me laugh!

I love you!
Ang - your kid - Emma's mom :D

Hi, Mom! My Mom reads my blog - I put it into her favorites on her computer. I'm 44 years old and still kind of freaks me out to have my mom reading my blog! LOL! Every so often she'll comment on something I've written and I'm reminded, "Mother is watchng!" Hooray for computer literate Moms!!!

As the daughter of Jan, the Warrior Granny, I can tell you she will be thrilled when I tell her there is now a Warrior Nani. Watch for her comment soon!

And you know what? I think it would be AWESOME if the Stag-Suit made it to Mexico with Nani!! I'm thinking she could have some hot pool boy in the pic with her to bring it all around full circle... Kim, what do you think? LOL

My, my, so much ado about "da ugly suit"...where does a Warrior Granny begin? First of all, I suggest that before reading my entry, for your own personal safety, you remove all coffee and diet cokes from your immediate area. I've read way too many comments lately about nasal flush, and I'm very concerned for your well being!

That said, I must admit, I TOTALLY AGREE with Warrior Nani...Emma Hope looks Maaaaavelous, Darling! She does something for "da suit" that not even Elvis could pull off...no offense Jeanne. Emma Hope surely deserves major kudos for her beautiful spirit, and for the simple fact that the kid clearly LOVES "da suit"!

HOWEVER...as I sit at my computer this morning...in a Zen kind of state...I am able to allow my mind to fantasize about "da suit"...I do love it so, you know, as it speaks to me in ways other suits never have. I have made previous attempts to convey my good feelings about "da suit, but I'm afraid my pleas have fallen on deaf ears...STAY WITH ME HERE...I struggle to vizualize Jim(Carrey)wearing "da suit", no offense, Jim...you have great legs and I love you... but..."Somebody--Shoot-- Me"! As my mind continues down this path, and I methodically consider the staggering number of possible candidates, who could do great justice to "da suit"...it has come to me in a Flash...WAIT FOR IT........my vote (if I got a vote)goes to...none other than....David Kirby, aka MR. WONDERFUL! Just imagine, David at the podium...in "da suit", OR...David at a press conference...in "da suit", OR...David just hanging out at his NY flat...in "da suit"...my visions seem to be endless, don't yours? David would do for "da suit" what few others would be able to do...add an air of Class and Intelligence to it's aura. Everyone will look at "da suit" in a totally different way, when David explains, as only he can do...the REAL TRUTH about "da suit". People all over the world will sit up and take note...they will begin to understand "da suit" more than they ever thought possible. I personally, have always seen the beauty of "da suit", and I truly believe that Mr. Wonderful has what it takes, to help others come over to my side...to, possibly for the very first time...see the light...and BELIEVE in the BEAUTY of "da suit"! "Da suit" needs David Kirby. David would give "da suit" hope for the future. With this new found hope, "da suit" would start to feel just like other suits...beautiful and confident. I believe in "da suit, with every fiber of my being. We cannot entrust the care of "da suit" to just any Tom, Dick, or Harry. The responsibility is huge...the burden great...this is not a job for an ordinary man... we need a Super Hero! Come on..for the sake of "da suit"...VOTE David Kirby aka Mr. Wonderful aka OUR Super Hero! Trust me, with David Kirby...the sky is the limit. Let no suit be left behind! Kim, perhaps the next time DK goes to Paris, he could bring "da suit".

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for...DK I'm talking about YOU!

Ummm... Warrior Granny??? You started happy hour without your daughter and I being invited??? How rude! LOL

I removed all beverages, but as I had just got off the treadmill I was starving so I was eating a hard boiled egg. I think it's advisable for us all to remove all FOOD and BEVERAGES from the pc area.

I managed to keep the egg in my mouth only because I stopped reading long enough to chew and call your daughter, who I am sure by now is on the phone with you!

OMG!!! You are a riot! Now I have to go dress as I have a friend and her kids coming over in a bit. We too will be starting happy hour early. Pace yourself, it's early!

Warrior Nani AKA Mom :D I will fill you in on pool boy and Kim! Call me when you get on here!

Ang...contrary to popular belief, I have NOT started Happy Hour... YET. All things come to he/she who waits, and I've got about 2 more hours...darn! Oh well, glad to hear you didn't choke on your hard boiled egg today. I was just trying to give everybody, including DK, a good laugh. Hey, if we can't laugh, we might as well hang up our spikes!

Your daughter looks *Devine* in Da Suit.
I must agree with Granny Warrior and vote for David Kirby.
Is this like one of those elections where we vote someone in who isn't at the meeting??
I have to believe that he would do a good job with Da Suit.
David is a guy with stick-to-it-iveness for sure!!!

Sorry it has taken me a while to get back on here... because I live on email and the internet during my work time I don't do anymore online than I have to during down time. I just wanted to add that they have Cabana boys in Mexico that might like to see "da ugly suit". Cabana boys came up quite a lot recently at a conference I was attending and it related to stress relief.... as in relaxing by the pool with a massage by the Cabana boy or something like that........ No one will do justice to "da ugly suit" quite like the one and only lovely Emma Hope however and of course I have some prejudice going on in my thinking but again the photo shoot with the drink with the umbrella just makes it all a perfect picture....just the ocean waves and the beach in Cabo San Lucas are missing! :)
