You are very brave to advocate and defend your position. I hope several family members of military personnel can collaborate on a specific website and support a specific foundation for Autism. If you know of one, please post it. You are right... one voice is not enough and I believe ORGANIZATION for this cause is needed to get the right people to listen and do something about the mandated vaccinations for military family members. It is very difficult for active duty personnel to make comments about how "bad" the children are being treated medically or to "blame" military medicine/Tricare accepting providers because their job status and treatment may be punitively affected. Thank you Preschoolmom2 and many other wives/husbands/children/family of our military for serving our country by supporting your loved ones. Together with one voice, we can make a difference. Good grief.. they are not hearing us.. They are going on the recommendations of the CDC and ‘super-sizing them’ to the extreme of mandating more vaccines.. NJ and the US Military are the only ones mandating the flu vaccine.. Why does the US Military want to mandate more vaccines for it’s dependents – when 49 other states..say HELL NO… not enough research, too much thimersol and I guess they feel the parents are the pediatrician are smart enough to make the right decision for the particular child/medical history/family history.. WOW.. who is running these vaccination mandates at the US Military anyway.. do they think they are smarter than the 49 states that are NOT mandating the flu vaccine this year.. I guess so..and I say.. we need a seat at this table to make our case.<BR/><BR/>Angela has written about my recent battle to fight the new mandated flu vaccine in the Military schools/daycare and it's always the same 'red tape' and deny, deny, deny.. just get the vaccine and shut-up.. how demoralizing. I did win a waiver but not without an incredible fight at the Pentagon level. It's like they think these vaccines are miracle from heaven and defend them at all costs.. At the cost of our children??? <BR/><BR/>I mean the military no disrespect as I am proud USAF wife and mother of two but these are OUR kids and do they think we are just going to keep sitting back and take it.. I SAY NO…. They are wrong on these mandates - they are wrong on the multi-vaccine schedule and they are wrong to mandate them when the fine and men and women who server are NOT stupid. We as parents, can make these decision with the knowledge and our pediatrician on the flu vaccine and other vaccines.<BR/><BR/>I SAY NO.... we won't sit back and take it anymore. As one voice we make an incredible story but as a unified group..we can change these mandates and make a difference. If they want us to vaccinate - it needs to be more safe, alternatives need to be explained, offered, educated on and the mandates - they need to go away.
