Would love to have more PECS around here, compared to Ang's stips of PECS or bag of PECS I have only a few. Foods, rooms, functions and things and always can use more here. But what I really want to do is share with our school district, it seems as though they really do not know the real reasoning to PECS or schedule. This is how my children communicate or if something new is to change I show a visual to help them understand. They are very motivated, but being a small school just getting started, they are struggling to get all equipment possible. This would be such a great addition and would help soooo many kids at the school. Right now, enrollment is around 100, and it is all children on the spectrum, no peers, etc, so very scary that there were that many kids in the area not being served well. I dont want to think how many more are out there. Where this can effect 7 children!wow. Teachers just do not have the time to make all of this. THough the children would benefit from the visual supports.
